Tokyo-based alternative band Rourourourous, known for their distinctive presence in the Japanese indie scene, will release their new single “symp.” on December 13, 2025.

As the second installment in their ongoing three-song consecutive release project, “symp.” explores the subtle distortions and shifts in perception that arise as generative AI and large language models increasingly permeate everyday life. The song captures the discomfort of adapting to the “accelerated growth” demanded by modern cities, and the sense of one’s focus gradually slipping out of alignment—an emotion emblematic of the AI era.

The track features recording and mixing by engineer Kosuke Nakamura, with artwork by photographer comuramai, continuing the band’s commitment to integrating sound and visuals in a way that encourages open, language-free interpretation.

Rourourourous has remained highly active throughout the year, and anticipation is building for the third and final release in the series, where the band is expected to present yet another fresh approach.

About Rourourourous

Rourourourous is a Tokyo-based alternative band.
They released their debut album Shikisokuzeku in 2014, and following a lineup change in 2015, the group established its current formation. In 2024, they released the full album Hitobito, gaining recognition both domestically and internationally despite operating independently.

Each member pursues their own creative work across various fields, and together the band continues to explore new possibilities of expression through the band format.
